Unless you are a millionaire playboy and secretly a crime-fighting vigilante, you probably do not want those loose flaps of fat and skin under your arms referred to as batwings. Unfortunately, diet and exercise are often not enough to tone and firm that area to keep it from shaking after you have waved goodbye to your guests. However, there are other ways to have shapely arms. You could have a plastic surgeon perform liposuction on the area, or take advantage of one of the minimally or non-invasive body contouring techniques discussed here.
Light or Laser Body Contouring
LED or laser lights focused on the area under your arms will cause the fat cells to release triglycerides so the cells shrink and die. In addition, it has been shown to tighten skin by increasing the production of collagen. Due to the manner in which the fat is killed, you will not see immediate results; however, you will not have any downtime or restrictions placed on you after the procedure.
During the fat freezing procedure, a gel-filled pad with a large suction cup on the bottom will be placed on the fatty area. A second pad may be wrapped around the arm too. Once secured, a small, handheld machine is attached. The machine sucks the fatty area up into the pad and then causes the gel to cool down and freeze. As the fat cells freeze, they become crystallized and eventually die. Your body will eliminate the dead cells as any other dead cell. Again, you will need to wait a few weeks to see the complete results of the fat freezing but should be able to go about your normal routine immediately.
Radio Frequency Fat Reduction
Doctors can apply sound waves to your batwings that will cause vibrations to break up the fat cells in the area. The vibrations will not only destroy the fat cells, but increase collagen production to tighten the skin, and get rid of pockets of water that create cellulite.
Keep in mind, these procedures should not be used to get rid of large amounts of fat. They are done after you have already tried everything to get rid of small problem areas that do not seem to respond to traditional diet and exercise. When you have worked hard to lose weight and still have batwings, taking advantage of one of these body contouring techniques will give you the arms you have always wanted and deserve.Share
